WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

As a young child, farming was my way of life.  Raised in New Hampshire, we relied heavily on the plants we grew and the cattle we raised. Before I was in high school, the agricultural aspect fell solely on me, and I welcomed it. I was always fascinated with how quickly new life could grow.  Then, after I graduated, I owned my own nursery, which flourished for years, until I packed up and moved to warmer weather.

In 1992, I moved to the west coast of Florida. For over 20 years, I made a living doing landscaping and captaining private events (fishing the local waters of the Gulf). It was a paycheck, but not my passion. Finally, by 2013, I was able to purchase a property, which got me back into doing what a love... Growing life!  

At The Plant Whore, Farmer Joe Plants, we strive to produce quality plants, all at a fair price to our consumer. While we initially catered to homeowners, who wanted to beautify their own gardens, we have expanded to offer what we can to the commercial grower. So, if you have a nursery of your own, and need some starters, be sure to check with us to see what we can do for you.
